PTDA to Host 2023 Canadian Conference

The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) will present its 2023 Canadian Conference on June 6 to 8 in Ottawa, Ontario.

“We’re proud of the relationships our U.S. and Canadian channel partners have built,” says Mike McLain, president, PTDA. “The Canadian Conference creates additional pathways for company and industry growth and profitability. There is great opportunity for attendees to network, hear about important market trend updates and learn how best to support their workforce.”

Speakers are the conference will include:

• Jeremy Bess, economist, ITR Economics. Who will present the opening keynote “Gauging the Risks Going Forward Into 2023−2024.” Bess will provide a data-driven analysis of Canada’s economic trends, glimpsing what to expect for PT/MC-relevant industries.

• Lesra Martin, attorney, and motivational speaker. Will speak about “The Global Power of One: Empowering Change, Strength in Diversity Through Adversity,” Martin will address how we all struggle with change, particularly when it comes to unknown and unfamiliar terrain, such as creating an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment.

• Lee-Anne McAlear, Fortune 500 innovation specialist. Will present the Leadership Enhancement Workshop, “Leading in the Now and Getting Ready for the Next.” McAlear will look at best change practices and next changes practices, offering participants ways to support and stimulate employees’ creative behaviors and innovative outputs.

• Amie Archibald-Varley, registered nurse and director of multimedia at CanadiEM, and co-host of the “Gritty Nurse Podcast”. During her presentation, “Transforming Your Teams with Compassion and Empathy,” Archibald-Varley will address how to lead with compassion and empathy, offering employers useful approaches to transforming and restoring employees’ mental health, satisfaction, and productivity.

Power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry professionals will be in attendance to network throughout the conference. For 2023, the Distributor-Manufacturer Idea Exchange (DM-IDEX) will take place over two days and include short- and long-form meetings.
